Abdominal liposuction is a procedure for recontouring the body by permanently removing fat accumulations from the abdomen. Abdominal liposuction is customarily requested by both men and women who want a flatter tummy. Many men and women have an upper abdominal or lower abdominal area of excessive fat, and some have both. Abdominal fat deposits can be extremely renitent to diet or exercise.
Tumescent liposuction is a latest technique used in abdominal liposuction resulting in less bruising, less swelling and a quicker recovery than traditional methods of liposuction. Ultrasound-assisted liposuction uses ultrasound rather than mechanical action to teasen fat before removal. Blood loss is reduced during tumescent abdominal liposuction with only an average of a tablespoon being lost.
Liposuction is particularly useful for women who are of relatively normal weight but have loosed pockets of fat that cause certain areas of their body to appear disproportional. This approach is usually used to reduce larger areas of the body, such as the posterior hip, the back, and breasts, however it also is frequently used in the traditional areas, such as the thighs and abdomen.
Necessary factors which affect the success of abdominal liposuction involve: the amount and location of abdominal fat, history of weight gain and weight loss, history of pregnancy, and the age and the sex of the patient. It is feasible to undergo liposuction at almost any age. When skin is stiff, as in some older patients, it may not reshape well, and a skin tightening procedure may be mandatory.
Female patients have softer and less fibrous fat than men, and hence liposuction on a woman is easier to perform. Several patients even find physical activity more pleasant after shedding extra fat, and they also find that clothes tend to fit better after abdominal liposuction. After surgery, some patients acquaintance dimpling, lumpiness, numbness, scarring, discoloration, or sagging skin in the treated area.
Liposuction costs dangle on the number and size of the areas treated. Fee for liposuction is $1800 per site (this involves both sides). Each additional site is $900. Large areas need to be gauged at the time of consultation and will cost more depending on the amount of fat that needs to be removed. Operating room, or sedation costs are additional and depend on the extent of the procedure.
